EVALUATION OF THE EFFECTIVENESS OF SPECIALLY DEVELOPED TOOTHPASTE IN COMPLEX MODERN PREVENTIVE MEASURES FOR CHILDREN SUFFERING FROM HAEMOPHILIA

Abstract (English):
Subject. The high prevalence of dental caries and periodontal disease in children with hemophilia most often occurs due to poor oral hygiene due to fear of bleeding. Developed toothpaste has anti-inflammatory effect, reduces gum bleeding and improves cleaning quality. The development of such tools is relevant for comprehensive treatment to patients with haemophilia requiring special treatment for oral hygiene. Objectives. To assess the impact of new toothpaste on the state of organs and tissues of the mouth in children with haemophilia. Methodology.Open controlled study conducted in groups: children (n = 17, 6–17 years, haemophilia) used new paste, comparison group - standard. Evaluated OHI-S, PMA, Kőtschke, saliva parameters (viscosity, secretion, pH) at 3 and 6 months. Results. Research has shown that the use of new toothpaste in children with haemophilia reliably improves oral hygiene (OHI-S) and reduces inflammation (PMA index) after 3 months (p < 0.05). Decreased gum bleeding, reduced saliva viscosity and pH normalization relative to the comparison group. The results exceed traditional therapy, confirming the effectiveness of the development.
