The widespread prevalence of cardiovascular disease is a pressing global health issue. The economic and social consequences associated with the increased disability of the working-age population define this disease as the "scourge of the 21st century." In dental clinics, patients' polymorbidity dictates the need for comprehensive treatment approaches due to the impact of cardiovascular disease on the postoperative period. The study focused on the postoperative period and the development of complications following dental implantation in patients with chronic heart failure. The aim of the study was to examine post-implant complications in patients with different functional classes of chronic heart failure. Methodology. 311 edentulous patients participated in the study, including 215 with chronic heart failure. Based on the diagnostic evaluation, a decision was made to perform dental implantation and subsequent correction with prosthetic appliances. Results of the study. Pain in the area of the surgical wound on the 3rd day after dental implantation was observed in all groups, but the severity was significantly higher in patients with CHF III FC (NYHA), occurring in 84.7 % (n = 49). Edema of the mucoperiosteal flap decreased by the 14th day of observation in patients of all groups: in respondents with CHF I FC (NYHA) – from 83.3 % (n = 50) to 10 % (n = 6) of episodes, in the subgroup of individuals with CHF III FC (NYHA) from 91.3 % (n = 42) to 28.2 % (n = 13) of cases. By the 3rd month after dental implantation, peri-implantitis with bone resorption developed in patients of all groups, but the highest values were observed in the CHF III FC (NYHA) subgroup – 26.1 % (n = 12) of cases. After stopping the inflammatory process, due to the progression of peri-implantitis, removal of implants was performed in 1.8 % (n = 2) of patients with CHF II FC (NYHA) cases versus 15.2 % (n = 7) of the CHF III FC (NYHA) subgroup. Conclusions. High complication rates in patients with NYHA III HF indicate that the severity of heart failure influences the course of the postoperative period.
