This monograph consists of 11 sections devoted to the diagnosis and prevention of precancer and malignant tumors of the oral cavity, their differential diagnosis, and the importance of oncological awareness in the work of dentists and maxillofacial surgeons. The monograph provides a brief history of the development of Russian oncology and the origins of the oncology service in the Middle Urals. It presents the experience of organizing preventive work in Yekaterinburg and the Sverdlovsk region on oral oncopathology. It describes the epidemiology, carcinogenesis, methods of early diagnosis and cancer screening, and the clinical features of various forms of precancer, carcinomas, inflammatory and neoplastic diseases of the oral mucosa in children and adults. The monograph is illustrated using the authors' photo archives. Recommended for expanding and deepening the knowledge of dentists and maxillofacial surgeons.
