A CLINICAL CASE OF LICHEN PLANUS DEVELOPMENT ON THE MUCOUS MEMBRANE OF THE ORAL CAVITY OF A YOUNG MAN, WHO HAS BEEN WORKING AT A COMPUTER FOR A LONG PERIOD OF TIME

Abstract (English):

Actuality: Urgency: One of the most urgent problems in dentistry nowadays is the disease known as Lichen planus, it covers amounting to 30-35% of all pathologies of the oral cavity mucous membrane [4, 6]. Lichen planus is more common in women aged 40 to 60 (62-67%) [4], but in some cases, the disease appears in young-aged men. According to the present knowledge, the etiology of the lichen planus development remains unclear and there are various theories as to the development of the disease [3, 7]. The aim of the study was to investigate clinical manifestation of lichen planus on the mucous membrane of the oral cavity resulting from a long-term exposure to electromagnetic radiation when working at a personal computer. Materials and methods of research: There was examined patient B a young-aged man (36), sent to the Department of operative dentistry by his dentist for lichen planus diagnosis spice cation, his primary occupational hazard being – working at a personal computer (for 23 years, more than 4 hours a day). The study resulted in nding the characteristic features of lichen planus on the oral mucosa and the determining a its development provoking factor, the impact of electromagnetic radiation.
