COMPARATIVE EVALUATION OF THE EFFECTIVENESS OF THE DEVELOPED ALGORITHM OF INDIVIDUAL ORAL CARE IN PATIENTS WITH HEMORRHOIDAL DISEASE
Abstract and keywords
Abstract:
Relevance. The risk of developing periodontal inflammatory diseases (PID) is highest when oral hygiene deteriorates, which triggers the progression of inflammatory and destructive changes in the periodontium. According to the literature, patients with hemorrhoidal disease (HD) often follow a specific diet that includes a large amount of soft food with a high sugar content. Therefore, patients with HD and PID require a personalized approach to oral care products. The aim of the study: to evaluate the effectiveness of using an individualized oral care algorithm (IOCA) for patients with IBD and hemorrhoids Materials and methods. The examined patients were divided into 2 groups: the main group consisted of 42 patients who performed the IOCA presented in the article, and the control group (CG) consisted of 40 patients who performed oral hygiene using their usual method. Results. According to the results of the study, the use of IOCA improved the indicators of hygienic and periodontal indices (the changes are statistically significant, p <0.05). The results of functional diagnostic methods also confirm the justification of the regular use of IOCA in patients with GB and periodontal disease: the FSK test in the main group was 54.37 ±2.08 seconds, and before the use of IOCA it was 35.12 ±1.16 seconds, which confirms the reduction of the inflammatory process in periodontal tissues. Conclusion. The study showed that after applying the algorithm of individual oral care in patients with hemorrhoidal disease and chronic inflammatory periodontal diseases, there was an improvement in microcirculation in periodontal tissues, a decrease in inflammatory processes in periodontium and an increase in the quality of oral hygiene. Thus, the presented algorithm of individual oral care is an important link in the interdisciplinary and comprehensive approach in the treatment of inflammatory periodontal diseases in patients with hemorrhoidal disease.
