The high prevalence of dental caries in middle-school-aged children makes its prevention a key issue in modern pediatric dentistry. The aim of the study is to evaluate the effectiveness of the social and health project "ShkolMed" in the direction of "School Dentistry" in the prevention of dental diseases in children of middle school age. Materials and Methods A retrospective analysis of the performance of dental offices operating in seven Kazan schools from 2016 to 2025 (No. 152, No. 57, No. 35, No. 62, No. 33, No. 182, and No. 188) was conducted. The study focused on the number of examinations, the number of previously sanitized and infected children 10–14 years old, the level of oral hygiene and engagement in educational work. Results The effectiveness of the organizational model has been proven—the gradual expansion of the program from 1 to 7 schools confirmed the success of the ShkolMed pilot social and health project in the School Dentistry area and the feasibility of scaling the model within the territorial State Guarantees Compulsory Medical Insurance (CMI) program. Significant qualitative results were achieved: a more than twofold reduction in the need for sanitation (from 78 % to 39 %), a fourfold improvement in oral hygiene indicators (from 15 % to 62 %) and a significant increase in the coverage of oral hygiene training for middle school-aged children (from 420 to 9,500 people). The introduction of digital hygiene monitoring has increased the effectiveness of preventative measures. Conclusions The obtained results demonstrate the effectiveness of the social and health project “ShkolMed” in the direction of “School Dentistry”, justify the feasibility of its further expansion and replication in other regions of the Russian Federation, and can be used as a model for the prevention of dental diseases in children of secondary school age in educational institutions.
